A Woman who adopts the Niqab will declare her candidacy for the Presidential Elections in France
« The Candidate of Freedom", a woman using the Niqab daily and openly, will officially declare her candidacy for the French Presidential elections on September 22, at 10:00 AM in Meaux (77), Paris region), in the name of defending the Constitutional rights of all women in France.
The choice of Meaux as a location is for the 2 following reasons :
M. Jean-François COPE, the Deputy-Mayor of this town had an active role in expanding the initlal Burqa Ban to the streets instead of only official or public inside areas. This he did after the parliamentary commission had previously been careful to exclude the streets (the "universal heritage of liberty") from the ban.
Deputies indeed have the right to write and vote laws, however they have the duty to respect the European Constitution.
Also: On September 22nd, the local Police department is scheduled to determine if the burqa-clad women who delivered an almond cake (litteral translation from French: "a cake of fines") on the Deputy-Mayor birthday, will be fined or not.
Since April 11 2011, the day the Niqab ban was passed into law, including the ban on wearing the niqab in the street, over 136 women have been arrested and taken to a police station as delinquants would be arrested for committing a felony.
Worse yet, for the last 5 months we have been witnessing a steep rise in intimidation and verbal violence occurrences towards veiled women, on the part of citizens who take it upon themselves to personally apply the law.
For all of these women, free and of French nationality, it is no longer acceptable to continue to live in fear and in an atmosphere of intolerance created by an unconstitutional and freedom-destroying law.
It is in the name of the defense of all the self-determined and free women of France that this Candidacy of Freedom is intended.

Une Femme en niqab déclarera sa candidature à l’élection présidentielle de 2012…en France
« La Candidate de la Liberté », une femme portant librement le niqab, déclarera officiellement sa candidature à l’élection présidentielle le jeudi 22 septembre à 10h00 à Meaux pour défendre la liberté constitutionnelle de toutes les femmes et la Parité Hommes/Femmes.
Le choix de la ville de Meaux est justifié pour deux raisons :
1) Le Député-Maire de la ville est le responsable de l’élargissement de l’interdiction du niqab à la rue en violation du droit européen. La Liberté dans la rue, PATRIMOINE UNIVERSEL DE LA LIBERTÉ, c’est sacré!
Les Députés ont le droit de faire des Lois, mais ils ont le devoir de respecter la Constitution européenne.
2) Ce 22 septembre, le Tribunal de Police de Meaux déterminera si deux jeunes femmes en niqab, ayant offert un « gâteau aux amandes » au Député-Maire le 5 mai 2011, seront ou non verbalisées.
Depuis le 11 avril, jour de l’application de la Loi interdisant aux femmes de porter librement le niqab dans la rue, 136 femmes ont été interpelées et conduites à un poste de police comme des délinquantes.
Plus grave encore, elles sont victimes d’intimidations, d’oppressions, de violences verbales et d’abominables agressions physiques dont les auteurs sont des citoyens français qui n’hésitent plus à se substituer à la Loi pour la faire appliquer à leur manière.
Pour toutes les Citoyennes de la Liberté, ce n’est plus acceptable de continuer à vivre dans la peur et l’intolérance de cette Loi qui viole le droit européen.
La Candidate de la Liberté puise sa légitimité et sa raison d’être dans la défense de leur dignité et leur liberté de religion (croyant ou pas).
